Safe Kids Wood & Clark Counties

Safe Kids Wood County was formed in 2006 and joined with Clark County in 2021 to become Safe Kids Wood & Clark Counties. It is led by Marshfield Medical Center, Clark County Health Department, & Wood County Health Department. The coalition's mission is to reduce unintentional injuries by empowering families and communities through educational initiatives and policy, systems, and environmental changes targeting children 17 and younger.

The group implements various injury prevention programs and events and focuses on:

  • Child Passenger Safety
  • Fire and Burn Prevention
  • Safe Infant Sleep
  • Water Safety
  • Wheel Safety
  • Poisoning Prevention
  • ATV Safety

Safe Kids Wood & Clark Counties partners with Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield Children’s Hospital to offer car seat clinics. The car seat check is free of charge and no appointment is necessary. For more information call Heather Krzykowski at 715-387-7083 or Liz Kracht at 715-387-9675.
