This response includes preparing for, and responding to, events that pose a substantial risk to the health of the state's residents. Make a plan

You can take small steps that make a big difference in an emergency. Make a plan with your family and friends and collect supplies you may need and how you will reconnect with each other if you are separated. Children may be scared and anxious so it is important to plan appropriately and talk about the plan and what they need to do during an emergency. Make sure your plan includes considerations for your pets. Practice the plan with your family/household members.

For individuals with functional needs and their families, it is important to consider individual circumstances and needs to effectively prepare for emergencies and disasters.
