The Wood County Health Department also includes the following family health programs:
Breastfeeding Support
Certified Lactation Consultants provide education and support of breastfeeding mother
and their infants through all the stages of breastfeeding.
Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
Health Education, consultation and referral services to families of children 21
years and younger who have special needs.
Chronic Disease
Public Education regarding prevention and control of diseases such as diabetes,
heart disease and stroke.
STD Education and HIV / AIDS Testing and Counseling
Confidential & anonymous HIV testing and screening, partner referral, education
and risk reduction.
Parent and Child Health
Parenting Education and resource referral assistance for families and their children.

For questions regarding your pregnancy, breastfeeding or your baby text "Baby" plus
your question to 36263. You will receive an answer from a local health professional
within 72 hours or less.

Prenatal Care Coordination
Consultation, education and support to pregnant women at risk for a poor birth outcome.
Tobacco Control
Prevention of tobacco use, assistance in quitting tobacco use and promotion of clean
indoor air in homes and work sites. Education and outreach to community on tobacco
related issues.
